WorkSafe Agriculture Safety Learning Network
The Worksafe Agriculture Safety Learning Network, is a Victorian first led by ORM funded by WorkSafe.
Explicitly the aim of the initiative is to accelerate the adoption of improved work health safety practices on farm.
Consequently ORM is developing a platform for sharing knowledge in collaboration with network partners Birchip Cropping Group, Agriculture Victoria and Rural Safety & Health Alliance.
The aim of the network is to advocate for Safer Farms Families & Futures (S3F) driven by;
- reducing the perceived burden of managing safety
- creating a mindset that improving safety on farm is achievable
- eliminating the stress and anxiety of managing safety.
Partnering with Birchip Cropping Group – Grower to Grower group
Birchip Cropping Group members are invited to create a grower-to-grower group that provides opportunities for learning. Furthermore participants will be provided with training, resources and access to specialists that support them to make real change on farm. For participants, attendance will be required at 5 regionally located events held through March 2023 to September 2024.

Community Based Behavioural Science
Finally a community-based behavioural science strategy led by Dr John James of Enablers of Change will target the key risk behaviors identified on farm.
The foundation for the network is the belief that the most important legacy we can all leave to future generations of farmers and their families, is a safer workplace.
