Event Overview
GRDC Grains Research Update, online – After the fire – management and actions to consider
James Hunt, University of Melbourne
Water-use efficiency (WUE) describes the relationship between the amount of water a crop uses and the yield it produces, accounting for both soil water changes and rainfall during the growing season. In this presentation, James Hunt will explain how WUE reflects processes such as transpiration, evaporation, plant-available water and harvest index, all of which influence how effectively crops convert water into biomass and grain. For agronomists and growers, understanding these components is essential in benchmarking performance, diagnose constraints and guiding management decisions in water-limited environments.
Join us for this GRDC Grains Research Update livestream – a live question and answer session will be included.
