ORM Communications has built wealth of knowledge and experience in working in partnership with the rural sector. We have a wide range of experience from facilitating farmer discussion groups to organising large scale conferences targeted at the farming sector.

ORM Communications draws on an extensive network of agricultural researchers and agronomists, both in the government and commercial sectors. Other partners include financial and  business management  consultants with specific knowledge of the rural sector. Our own team at ORM has over 20 years experience in communicating, facilitating and staging major events for the farming sector. Our reach is strengthened by alliances with communication specialists Australia wide.

This network ensures that programs developed for events and conferences for the rural sector provide independent and up to date and cutting edge  information for the leading advisers and industry players.

ORM is the manager of the GRDC Adviser and Grower Research updates across Southern Australia. The partnership with GRDC involves organising three adviser and fourteen grower updates in Southern NSW, Victoria and SA.

The GRDC is one of the world's leading grains research organisations, responsible for planning, investing and overseeing research and development, delivering improvements in production, sustainability and profitability across the Australian grains industry.

Since 1996, GRDC Grains Research Updates have provided farmers and their advisers the latest research outcomes needed to improve the profitability and sustainability of grain growing enterprises.  The updates bring together leading researchers, advisers and farmers from across the region. In total over 2000 participants annually are involved and updated on the latest research in the grains industry thus providing exceptional networking opportunity and the ideal vehicle to generate awareness of new products and management practises.

Additionally, thousands of others are also exposed to the Updates and Update sponsors through word-of-mouth, media releases, internet, email, newsletters, printed proceedings and direct mailings.

The GRDC adviser updates are held in February each year in NSW, Victoria and SA, with grower updates staged through the year from February through to September.

Other areas of management include the facilitation of Farm Management Groups in central and western Victoria. The farm groups offer a high value, unique program of learning and networking opportunities.

The new groups facilitated by the team at ORM will continue to be provided with networking opportunities and exposure to leading players in the business sector with a focus on the business management challenges facing farming families. Exposure to the latest technologies will ensure members and subscribers to the ORM Groups network will be up to date on the issues facing the rural sector.
