GRDC Adviser Update Series 2011

From information taken from an independent evaluation report of the Southern Region 2011 Updates it can be concluded that the GRDC Southern Region Adviser Updates continue to attract a broad spectrum of people critical to the grains industry, with overall attendance at all three events during 2011 totalling 819 participants. 

The 2011 Updates were well received by the industry as illustrated by the fact that 84% of respondents indicated they are likely to re-attend another update next year AND 85% of respondents are likely to apply three pieces on information in their work.

 

GRDC Adviser Update Series 2010

The 2010 GRDC Southern Region Updates for farm advisers and industry specialists have been well received by the industry.

Updates at Wagga, Ballarat and Adelaide were well attended and generated much interest within the grains industry and by state and national media.

Attendees have gone away armed with the latest technical and management pointers and have achieved that essential pre-season networking.

The Updates continue to attract a broad spectrum of people critical to the grains industry. It is a unique mix of researchers, commercial agronomists, agronomic and management consultants, input providers, extension officers, leading growers and other industry players.

A big thank you to the over 800 attendees who participated in the 2010 Updates.

International Speakers

In addition to high impact local speakers, the keynote international speakers were well received including;

- Adrian Johnston – Canada - (Wagga & Ballarat)

- Hugh Beckie - Canada - (Adelaide)

- Roger Sylvester Bradley – United Kingdon – (Ballarat)

- John Baker – New Zealand – (Adelaide)

Students Shine

The student presenters were highly praised at all three locations. Not only was the student research considered by the audiences as extremely relevant the clear and precise delivery was noticeable.
